@frankydoo Eigentlich würde ich das an dieser Stelle gerne beschreiben, aber ich habe ziemliche Bedenken, wenn in diesem Forum Tipps gegeben werden, wie man Geoblocking umgeht. Ausser CyberGhost gibt es noch x VPN Dienste, es existiert sogar ein Test, welche die besten sind. Juristisch gesehen ist Geoblocking dasselbe wie Kopierschutz, und das zu umgehen wird, zumindest von deutschen Gerichten, als Copyright-Verletzung beurteilt. Ich finde MV ein so geiles Programm, dass es mich sehr schmerzen würde, wenn den Entwicklern aus gut gemeinten, aber unbedachten Ratschlägen Schwierigkeiten erwachsen würden.

@mddawson The point of view is not the consistency. If it’s not geoblocked there is no need of a special action, but if it is, any bypass is nothing else but a copyright infringement. In my opinion the whole profit-driven copyright-paranoia is ridiculous, but because it is illegal, we should not discuss VPN and Cie. in this forum, for the reason, that it could lead into difficulties for the developers of MV.

@danceasy There is no connection to a “profit-driven copyright paranoia”, as you name it. The fact is that Germany has about ten times the population of Austria or Switzerland. The rights for these countries are “cheaper” to obtain. , and the rights owner probably in most cases does not care whether 80 or 85 millions watch something. But he cares whether 8 millions or 80 millions watch.

Ich kann doch nicht unzählige Downloads editieren - und das auch nur über gewisse Kunstgriffe. (normal is der fehlgeschlagene Download nicht editierbar)
Häkchen bei “Download sofort starten” entfernen und anschließend unter “Download ändern” die Url editieren, was ist daran so schwer?

Ganz einfach per “pip install mediathekview_change_downloads_to_http” zu installieren. Entwickelt und getestet (vorerst mal nur auf GNU/Linux). Feedback welcome.
Wenn ich schon dabei bin: mit Zieldateiname %DT%d %s - %t - %T -ORIGINAL- %N.mp4 benennt https://github.com/novoid/guess-filename.py die ORF-Dateien sinnvoll um und prüft sogar die Datei-Größe auf Plausibilität (abgebrochene Downloads).

@mac-christian Ich gebe zu, dass der Ausdruck profit-driven copyright paranoia krass ist, ich habe halt manchmal solche Anwandlungen, wofür ich mich entschuldige, falls ich jemanden damit beleidigt habe. Meine Bedenken, in diesem Forum Proxy- und VPN-Möglichkeiten zur Umgehung von Geoblocking zu diskutieren, ändern sich deshalb nicht. Wenn ein Copyrightholder einen Inhalt nur innerhalb eines begrenzten Gebiets zur Verfügung stellt, ist der Bypass eine Copyright-Verletzung, also bleibt eventueller Ärger an den Betreibern dieser Seite hängen.

try it ! if i remember it right,IF,you can download some EU Gb Usa channels after free registration and if you become “premium”,its very cheap and the quality is not like MV ,sometimes is bad.
But you can be premium for wide under 20,-/year ,download traffic costs ,but in germany from 00 .00 am to 8.00 am downloads are under some conditions free. i use it since years.after a few days mostly of the films are cutted in several formats.Try it,you and your wife will love it. -
